Even though there were some good candidates that did some “special things Ron and Bonnie volunteered to take me for June. This is especially cool
since they went on a long, long trip to Canada. I was nervous since I have never been out of country and was thinking that since I don’t have a passport will I
be able to get back? I had my own special seat with open air view on a trailer that Ron towed. We went through Utah’s Zion, Bryce Canyons, Escalante on
the first part of the trip. Then we joined up with a bunch of other women from a group called Women in the Wind for the rest of the trip. We went through
Yellowstone, saw Old Faithful spray, ran into some bear and buffalo ON THE ROAD. AHHHHHHH. They were huge!! One of them started eying me down
but I just eyed him back and he left me alone, probably thinking that this little biker dude would beat him up if he went any further.
Then we went into Canada, a foreign land, money is different but things seemed very similar. Folks were very friendly, lots of tourists wanted to take my picture.
I am a celebrity ya know. We went through Alberta’s Banff, Lake Louise, Glacier Ice Fields, Jasper. Very picturesque area. It was pretty darn cold in the
morning though, thankfully we were at the Glacier fields later on in the day because I forgot my jacket liner.
On our way back we had a problem, my towing partner had mechanical problems. He wanted to make sure I was able to complete the trip so a good friend
called Twig volunteered to tow my chair the rest of the way down the Oregon/Washington Hwy 1. Man… What views!! Got to go over the Golden Gate Bridge
too and saw Alcatraz off in the distance. The fires in Northern California put a little dampener on some of the views and we had to skirt one of them by Big Sur
but otherwise it was just fantastic.
We heard that Ron and Bonnie had gotten things sorted out and were able to continue on their journey but as time permitted were not going to be able to meet up
with us. I was just glad they were ok. When I got home, I was beat. I am still recovering just sitting and relaxing and reminiscing of all the places I saw and the
things we did and the places we visited. This was one way cool trip. Where am I going to go next!!!!!
