Pete and Linda, thank you for everything you have done and will do. I know it gets cumbersome and sometimes we just need a break. You folks are
without a doubt the glue that holds things together and have never failed to step up when things are needed. Every club needs members just like you. I am
sure I speak for everyone what I say we appreciate everything you do. Enjoy the riding and catch your breath.

The Loma Linda University Children Hospital Toy Run :
I want to thank everyone for attending, this is a worthwhile cause. Loma Linda was to unveil our PC Pal laptop during the presentation. Even though
innauguration has not officially taken place yet, the group asked me to do a little speech when they do the ribbon cutting ceremony. Yeah right, me,
impromptu, speaking in front of hundreds of bikers. Well, everyone had good advice on what to say, how much we raised, how we raised it and all that.
Now remember to say this and that. I had this thought in the back of my head of a true story but stage fright set in, it was confusing, mixed up, I think I said
we were giving a Wii or something, probably because I want one for Christmas. Anyway, I think the story needs to be told.
Some of you might know that my son spent some time at Loma Linda after a motorcycle accident. Had to have some pins put in his leg, some serious
road rash stuff. They did an excellent job. So I have a little bit of a personal experience with them. I also have a person that works for me, his name is
Ben. Back in February it was found that his son Seth had a brain tumor. The Loma Linda Childrens hospital surgeons said that they would have to remove
his pituitary gland. Scary stuff for sure. He spent a lot of time with Seth in the hospital. I visited them before and after the operation.
Ben cam into my office one morning, nothing unusual this happens regularly. During the conversation he asked if I was a member of Chaparral Riders. I
said yep! He said he was there last night and they were using one of the play stations and he notice a tag that said "Donated by Chaparral Riders". He
said if it wasn't for that thing he and Seth would have been bored to death. Then, and this kind of took me a little by surprise coming from him, he said he
wanted to personally thank me for getting that for us. All I could think of was it wasn't me, it was US!! I told him I would pass along the thanks. So
THANK YOU!!!
