Another year has passed at Chaparral Riders club. The club has been around roughly for 11 years,
starting off with only a few members, now with close to a hundred members for the pass several years. In
the pass the club would raise about $900.00 to $1,500.00 a year for Loma Linda Hospital. This year 2006
with bake sales and selling of Stinky our cute mascot, to other members just so they don’t have to
carry him on their bikes and of course personal donation. We have been able to raise over $7,000.00, this
is a great accomplishment from a small club. One thing also about the club is the end of year Christmas
Party, it is December 3rd starting at 1:00PM and your club dues and 50/50 go toward putting it on.
The days starts with a ride and ending up at the Party. We display all the photos of the year rides and
events, we have doors prizes and Christmas trivia with dinner. You still can come and join in the fun, you
have till the Wednesday Night Dinner to pay, (November 29th) which is $20.00 per-person. With the year
ending, membership starts over. Earlene is taking 2007 Membership Application at the December 3rd
meeting. Lets make 2007 even better. Please bring a Application form with you filled out and signed..
Lets have another great year.

The fund raising efforts of the Chaparral Riders have been outstanding this year. Never have so many
given so much to support the Loma Linda Fund. Purchasing two of the Starlight Fun Centers in one year
is way beyond what most of us would have thought possible just a few years ago. The second Fun
Center is thanks in a large part to one of our long-time members, Dan Hoeft. Dan is a consistent
contributer to the Loma Linda Fund, working his way up over a period of time to a monthly committment
of $25.00. Dan hasn't been able to ride lately due to complications of diabetes and will have to go back
for more surgery on his foot in the coming weeks. His health issues have led him to retire from his work.
As he contemplated retirement, Dan made a another committment to the Loma Linda Fund: to give
enough money to allow the purchase of a second Fun Center for this year. Dan's offer was to make up
the difference between the cost of a Fun Center and the balance of the Loma Linda Fund at the end of
the December meeting. This will represent a cash gift of around $1000.00, depending on contributions in
December. At the November Chaparral Riders meeting, the member voted to accept Dan's gracious gift.
Dan will present his check during the Christmas Party.
Thank you Dan!!!
Thanks Dan Hoeft
