Honda was an established auto firm, with car and motorcyle assembly plants around the world. In 1981,
Gold Wing production moved from Japan to Ohio; the biggest market for the bike was in America, but it
was exported all over the world, including Japan. A new 1520cc, six-cylinder Gold Wing- the largest,
most complex
bike ever built in the U.S, was unveiled in 1988. The original Gold Wing was produced without
factory-fitted saddlebags or fairing. Many Gold Wings were modified for long distance touring by their
owners. prompting Honda to start equipping later models with these standard accessories.
UPCOMING EVENTS
The  upcoming yearly run to STURGIS will be in August. The dates this year will be from August 4th
though August 10th. If you are interested in partisipating, contact John W. or Greg C. as they will be
attending the ride. This is a yearly event that alot of Chaparral Riders attend, and have alot of great stories
and pictures to share. This is one event you don't want to miss!
UPCOMING ANNUAL CHRISTMAS
PARTY
Our annual Christmas Party this year will be held Sunday December 7th.  There was a mention that JJ's
restaurant would be a possiblity for the party. More details to follow as it will be up for discussion at our
August meeting.
OBSTACLES IN THE ROAD
It was brought up as a reminder by one of our members, that when the Road Captain points to an
Obstacle, whether it be a pot hole, water, or something in the road way that everyone down the line needs
to point it out also. This way no one will hit the item or cause any accidents. We had one of our riders last
year hit a sofa chair
that was on the freeway which caused him to break his foot. We would like to prevent this incident from
happening again.
