The mistake I made was forgetting the golden rule…When you are on a motorcycle, you are invisible!
Don’t ever assume anyone can see you.  Always be ready for the unexpected and have a plan to get
you out of the situation, should something bad happen.  Know where other traffic is around you at all
times.
You should constantly be running “What If’sâ€ through your mind.  What if that truck in front of
you suddenly slams on his brakes, or blows out a tire?  Road Alligators have killed many motorcyclist that
were simply not prepared for it.   What if that car about to make a left turn in front of me actually does?
Will that guy backing out of his driveway wait until I have passed by?  Will the teenager approaching on
my right stop for the stop sign?  Will she see me?  What will I do if she doesn’t? Where will I go?  It
will happen someday.  Be ready!
Driving defensively has saved my life.  It will someday save yours, too!
