Dear Friends at Chaparral Riders Club:
On behalf of the Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation, I would like to sincerely thank you for your
generous donation of $5,000 as a sponsorship of the PC Pal program. We are truly proud to include the
Chaparral Riders Club among our family of supporters and to have you associated with this exciting
addition to our array of programs for hospitalized young people. Your kind gift will enable us to serve
more of these children around the country by helping them keep in touch with family and friends, and
restore some of the laughter and happiness illness takes away.
While every donation helps us to give children the chance to forget about their illnesses and just be kids, it
is particularly meaningful when sponsors such as yourself make such a profound commitment to our shared
values and goals that form the basis of our mission. We know then that you share our drive to reach as
many children as possible, and share our delight when these programs make a difference in the life of at
least one family.
I thought you might like to see a note we received from a grateful-young teenage girl who was able to use
a PC Pal during a recent hospital stay. She wrote:
"It's amazing how much better you feel when you simply forget that you are
sick. This imaginary wall appears - and you forget the pain, you tune out the
beeps, and get lost in your own world. Starlight Starbright gave me an
opportunity to forget where I was and feel normal again. "
Starlight Starbright will remain a source of hope, joy, and empowerment because of the loyalty of friends
like you. Together, we can continue to connect seriously ill kids with a community that embraces them
today, tomorrow and as long as we are needed.
