Club Meeting and Wednesday Night Dinner Dates 2008
First on the list that is coming up is “Norwalk Motorcycle Club 47th annual Yuma Prison Run”.  April 18th, 19th, 20th 2008, this event is open to all motorcycles and families are welcome. A lot of members attend this event; it is a day of fun with live music and games for all. You can camp at the fairgrounds or motel it. You can get more information from their Web site click on link.

Next is “Laughlin River Run” April 23rd, 24th, 25th 2008. Some people camp in Bullhead City or motel it. They try to get together to ride over to Oatman AZ. If you have never been there, it is a small town that the Burro’s get to roam free and if your timing is right you may witness an old fashion shotgun wedding, for more information click on link.

Then in May 24th, 25th, 26th 2008 is the Skip Fordyce “West Coast Thunder IX”. It is a 3 day event, but we try to get together only on Memorial Day to ride over to the Riverside National Cemetery. For more information on this event, click on link.

August is “Sturgis Motorcycle Rally” which starts August 4th thru the 10th 2008. Not many go to this event because you need more then a weekend off, it is best if you have a week or more to devote to this event. It is in South Dakota which is about 1300 miles from here. If you do camp with a RV, you need to make reservation really early, they fill up fast. For more information click on link

This one is fun but the motels are expensive, “Street Vibration in Reno” begins September 24th, 25th, 26th, 28th 2008. Last year quite a few of us went with some arriving on Wednesday and some on Friday. It is fun to ride in groups, some went interstate and some went up highway 395. If you never have been on Hwy 395 it is a scenic ride once you get close to Lone Pine and Bishop area. If you do go, be sure to go around Lake Tahoe, it is very beautiful ride. Motel’s book up fast, so make your reservations early.

The last is “Las Vegas BikeFest”. This year it starts October 3rd, 4th, 5th 2008. They have over 300 venders at the Cashman center. There are four registration packages to choose from or if you volunteer for at least one shift (four hour minimum), you will receive one complimentary registration pass of your choice. While you are there be sure to take a ride out at Red Rock area of Lake Mead National Park, just to let you know there is a fee to get into the park.

This is just a suggestion about making Motel reservation. If you are thinking about going but are not sure if you are able, still make the Motel reservation, most of the time you can cancel with no extra charge. Be  Sure to ask about the rules of cancellation.   If you have an event that you would like to be posted, you must send by E-Mail all the information, with links and what you would like to say. If it not complete it will not be posted.
